1930's style school outfit

Here is a creation from a few weeks ago that I never blogged about! It was inspired by some '30 patterns of little girl dresses, plus I wanted to make something school-uniform-like. Here is what I came up with! I thought the hat added a nice touch :)

This is one of the pattern ispirations (mostly the top). I had been wanting to try an inverted pleated skirt, so I combined the two!

Another Lucy creation!

I'm sort of on a Lucy-dress-making kick right now, so here is another replica dress! This is the dress she wears into Narnia when she goes with her whole family. The material is more blue than the real one, but oh well! Kaya will be modeling:

She just had to have a snow background!

But here is a better representation of the actual color...

Here's the real dress
And here is the dress with the green sweater, which is in the works for me. I will update when the sweater is done!

Also, keep an eye out for the lampost dress, which is in the works as well :) I do other things than just Narnia I swear haha

Lucy's field dress

My first project to share! This is a dress I made for my American Girls that is a replica of the field dress that Lucy Pevensie wears in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I played Lucy in a play version of Narnia when I was in middle school, so my mom made me a replica of the dress for the play. I found the left over fabric the other day, so I made one for my dolls! Lalaine is modeling it now :)

(She borrowed Kaya's belt to look very Narnian)

Here is a close-up of the embroidery. I simplified the actual embroidery a bit so it would fit for a doll dress, otherwise there would be way too much!
Here's a picture of Lucy's dress in the movie! You can find more about this costume and lots of other Narnia costumes at this awesome website: The Wardrobe Door

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! This is my first ever attempt at a blog, so I will be figuring things out along the way. To start off, I'm a generally very artsy person- I'm a musician and dancer and also a generally crafty person! I love to create and design things as you will see I'm sure. I also love replicating costumes and other ideas that I come across. I'm very interested in historical clothing as well, so you''ll see some of that too. My intent is to share my projects for the most part, but we'll see where things go!

Thanks for reading,
Miss Elizabeth
